Hot Fingers Bugle May 2024

A great number of Jazz Clubs both here and on the Continent surprisingly I am told are not finding it an easy task to keep their organisations financially viable these days with ever increasing costs across the board. On that theme may we take this opportunity of thanking everyone who continues to support and take an interest in Dove Jazz Club.

Special thanks go to those of you who faithfully and regularly attend our visits from live bands who display their abundant musical abilities with tremendous aplomb for your enjoyment on our well-trod boards. It is also appropriate for us to express our appreciation of those goodly souls who gift us with the desirable Raffle Prizes every month. The Raffle itself is a vital source of Fund Raising for us frequently making the difference between a profit and a loss for your Club.

Should you wish to join this band of goodly, generous folk you will receive a very warm welcome I can assure you. Whilst we are talking about the subject of Fund Raising to swell the Club's Coffers I must make mention again of 'Dove a la Mode' regarding our first ever Ladies Fashion Show that will be held on the evening of Tuesday 14 th May at your Dove Village Hall. The doors open at 7.00pm and the entrance Fee is £5.00 on the door. Why not come along to this fun evening when all of the clothes are on sale at 'Seductively Reasonable Prices.' There will be a licensed bar along with tea and coffee not to mention a Bounteous Raffle with a conglomerate of worthy prizes .By supporting this Event you will be helping to raise monies for your Village Hall as well as Dove Jazz Club. Our exceedingly goodly ladies who are organising this gathering are our cheerful raffle ladies Pat and Joyce. They will be exceedingly pleased to see you swelling the throng on the night. Why not bring one or two of your friends and neighbours along and make a night of it?

Please continue to support your local and not so local Jazz Clubs and Jazz bands whenever possible to try and enable our music and musicians to survive during these difficult days for our much beloved New Orleans genre of music! You know that it makes sense.

Kindly Regards and Happy Jazzing as usual

 Roger
