Seasonal Salutations to our Jazz Fraternity

Tonight's Line up comprises a 'Star Studded Combination' of great repute who are very much in demand throughout our green and pleasant land. Dove Jazz Club is proud to be amongst the very few 'Select Venues' who have been able to secure the Jazzaholics  Services to bring 'Christmas Cheer' to its greatly valued members. I am now able to reveal that they will return in all their glory for a 'Sunday Afternoon Rendition' on the 21st December 2025 as you will be able to see from the attached  'hot off the press'  '2025 'Fixture List'. Copies of the Full Fixture Card itself, which is bound to become a 'Collector's Item', will be available at the entrance door to the Club. If you think that you know anyone who may be interested in paying us a visit please feel free to take them a copy for their perusal in the comfort of their own cosy abode.

Once again on the night Jools Aldridge will be in charge of the 'Band's Baton'  controlling the Jazzaholics from behind his 'Vintage Drum Kit. They are surely one of the most in demand and busiest Bands on the British New Orleans Jazz Scene today. We like to think that we strive to only have the best and most entertaining Bands and Musicians appearing on the Dove Stage. We are certain that the Jazzaholics fulfil these criteria with ample abundance. Joining Jools in this gifted rhythm section will be a person who is almost a National Treasure at a very tender age! I refer of course to that 'nimble fingered' mainly string bassist but occasionally a brass oneJim Swinnerton.  His appearance tonight will not be his only one in our Hall over the next twelve months you will be delighted to know ! The multi-talented and user friendly Warren James completes the Rhythm Section with his renowned, free flowing musical competence on both banjo and guitar not to mention his 'vocal abilities.' Warren will be joining us again on Sunday May 11th 2025 when he brings his fascinating tale 'The Story of Skiffle' 'The Music that Launched British Pop' to our Dove Stage on a Sunday afternoon...

It is difficult to contemplate a more competent front line than tonight's three magical musicians that Jools has secured the services of to demonstrate his Band's considerable capabilities. We will be seeing and hearing a 'Class Act' on trombone the widely travelled Rob Pearce who is a regular visitor to the Crescent City and possesses a huge repertoire of New Orleans music? The familiar figure of Richard Exall will hold court in the reeds section. A famed product of the London School of Music Richard is vastly experienced and has a particular leaning towards the Sounds of the 'Deep South.'  He has played with many varied groups. The trumpet lead will be in the safe hands of Andy Henderson who first picked up a trumpet up at the tender age of Eight has a Military background with the Scots Guards. It was during his military service that he was selected to play the Official Fanfare for the Wedding of Prince Charles to Diana. What greater accolade can a musician have? It would appear that we are in for yet another entrancing, evening's entertainment I think!

By visiting our Superb Festive Show on the evening of Saturday the 14th December you are guaranteed to have a periwinkle of a prelude to your Christmas Celebrations. Why don't you also join us for our Outstanding Sunday Afternoon Jazz Concerts starting in February of 2025? You will be welcomed with open arms and we really do have some Barnstorming Music to look forward to from the Memorable Artists. A study of our Upcoming Programme, also available on our Website and Facebook, I am certain will show you that I'm not just 'Guilding the Lilly'  !. We very much look forward to seeing you in our audiences. As that much loved and much missed Showman Tommy Burton could frequently be heard to say, 'Everyone should visit Dove Jazz Club before they Die.' We will always be thankful for the fact that he visited Dove numerous times before his premature sad departure from the stage.

Rumbustious respectful regards

Roger
