Good tidings to all of our Jazz aficionados
Once more we send you glad tidings by email with an early notification of a June evening
of Joyous Jazz and much, much more as usual at the Dove Jazz Club, which as you are
all aware of takes place in the almost luxurious Dove Village Hall. That extremely widely
well-known temperate resting place for Butcher Burnham's Bang on Pork Pies prior to their
consumption by gnashes of various shapes, sizes and denominations original and false!
Further information as usual is contained in the attached copy of the widely studied by
genteel literary scholars in their search for knowledge June edition of the 'Bugle.' It gives
details of our next Concert that will feature the young, in jazz circles that is, Matt Palmer's
long established Eagle Jazz Band with its acclaimed array of picturesque and talented
musicians. Of course if you do live within a reasonable driving distance of our venue we
will always be pleased to see you amongst the throng at one of our live Conspicuous,
Cultural Concerts.
As we have mentioned previously in the 'Bugle' the Community/Village Hall Committee
planned to stage a 'Coming Together' on Sunday the 7 th May in our village to celebrate
the Coronation of King Charles III on May 6 th . The Event proved to be a huge success with
many villagers helping with its organisation and supporting it in large numbers on the day.
Every resident in the Village aged 16 and under on the day of the Coronation was
presented with a Commemorative Fine Bone China Mug from the Foley Pottery who are
based in the Longton area of Stoke. There are just a few of these boxed decorative mugs
left and I thought that being as several of you have already purchased them others may
well be interested in following suit. They are available to purchase from behind the bar at
the Hall for the more than reasonable sum of £10.00 each.
We are relieved to be able to report that we have now finalised the line-up of the bands
that will feature on the Dove Podium for the Autumnal half of 2023 . The confirmed dates for the
2023 Autumn Programme are 'Sarah Spencer's Transatlantic Band' on Saturday 23rd September followed by a booking for the 'Chicago Teddy Bears Society Jazz Band' on Saturday the 21st October, whilst on Saturday the 11th November we have a Concert by a Band making its very first visit to the Club; the Leeds based 'Night Owls' and our Christmas Offerings will feature Jools Aldridge with his star studded 'Jazzaholics' on Saturday the 16th December.
Of course your dedicated team are also still devoting quite a bit of time and effort into putting
the final touches to an outstanding Jazz Programme for for the first few months of 2024.
Take Care and 'Mind the Trams' as always !
