Once again, after our short 'August Break' it is our undoubted pleasure to furnish you with a copy of the 'Bugle' which has managed to make its way off the presses yet again to give you an update of the goings on at Dove Jazz Club where only the best, we like to think, of the available live New Orleans Jazz Music makes it way on to the podium in our wonderful venue namely our Village Hall; situated in the Internationally famed Centre of the Universe. It has been rather quiet on Jazz front over the past couple of months with even Fred making an appeal for articles and news for his famed and much read Northwest Jazz Site. It will most certainly be to your considerable advantage to pay Fred's Site a visit if you are not already acquainted of its existence !
I think that the majority of our audience experienced and greatly enjoyed our most nostalgic evening in the company of the personable and gifted Warren James and his top drawer musicians when he presented his much revered 'Lonnie Donegan Story' to us in July. It definitely brought back many memories of the days of old when numerous larks ascended high into the skies to regale us with their tuneful song which was very much the order of the day! Warren along with his men will be making a return visit to us on the 11th May of 2025 for a Sunday Afternoon Show in which they will share with us the fascinating 'Story of Skiffle.' You can safely put that date in your 2025 Diaries, when they become available, to alert you to the prospect of another presentation of Noted Nostalgia at Dove Village Hall ! Please share the news of this Concert and any other of our forth coming events with your friends, relatives or neighbours who may like to see and hear what is going on behind the doors of Dove Village Hall!
We have listened to the knowledgeable feedback and comments that we have received from our goodly supporters who come along to provide our musicians with an audience and generate the monies that allows them to receive a Fee for displaying their considerable skills and also cover their out of pocket costs. There is very much a large percentage of such folk who are in favour of Sunday Afternoon Jazz Sessions. Bearing this in mind we are presently trying to arrange as many Sunday afternoon Gigs as is reasonably possible from January 2025 onwards to give us an idea of how Sunday Afternoon Sessions go down with our audiences', helpers and musicians alike.
Kindly regards and best wishes as usual
Roger
