It is good to be 'Bugling' you once again with an update on the news and goings on at what we trust is your favourite New Orleans Style Jazz Venue - a Club where you are able to see and hear the very best and just forget about the rest - and where I hope that if it is within our financial means to facilitate such an appearance  and  you have a Band that you greatly Love you will certainly soon be able to experience it at Dove  !

We are firmly committed to having the White Gate, that gives access to the 'overflow parking spaces',  ajar  on the hard-core play area ajar for each of our forthcoming Sunday Afternoon Gatherings. It would be extremely helpful if all motorists could park as neatly as they can on the land surrounding the Village Hall along with that forming the Hard-core Play Area at all times. Please try and consider the needs of other drivers by not blocking them in or possibly obstructing their way through the White Gate. Leaving adequate space between all vehicles for drivers and passengers to get in and out of them is also a sound idea, as is avoiding using the 'Residents Car Parking Spaces' ! It would also be beneficial to all concerned if the parking spaces nearest to the entrance to the Village Hall, as far as is possible could be left free for the use of those people who support your Jazz Club, who are not quite as mobile as they might be for a variety of reasons. Your anticipated cooperation with these small considerations is very much appreciated. We should all strive to look after our fellow man as the 'Bucolic Bull Ring Sage' firmly dictates to us!

We greatly look forward to our forthcoming 'Live Presentation' 'The Story of Skiffle' at 1p.m. on the Afternoon of Sunday the 11th May. This 'Theatre Style Production' by the Jazz Club is in conjunction with the 'gradely folk' of the Village Hall with all of the profits being equally divided between the two organisations. It is an event that will see one of your Club's newest stars Warren James making a most welcome return to the Stage of our Venue with his 'Sounds of Yesteryear Skiffle Band.' Warren's noteworthy reproduction of the catchy and popular 'Lonnie Donegan Style Melodies' of a much loved bygone era has to be seen and heard to be believed? He will be performing his most illuminating presentation 'The Story of Skiffle' aided and abetted by Jools Aldridge on drums and everyone's favourite Jim Swinnerton on string base. This golden presentation of 'Two One Hour Halves' with an half hour interval, tells the intriguing story of 'The Music that was Responsible for Launching British Pop Music.' It is an event that will most certainly be a memorable afternoon of nostalgia as well as one featuring an easily recognisable musical archive from a bygone era that no one, young and old alike, with an interest in popular music can afford to miss!

The long running 'Jazz Raffle,' forms a vital part of our quest to raise monies to pay the mainly full time 'professional musical heroes' who tread our boards with such great aplomb. We are tremendously grateful to those goodly folk who contribute to the sizeable 'Raffle Pot' and also to the people who provide us with the much appreciated 'Prizes.' Don't forget that any surplus Christmas or Birthday Presents, for that matter, will always find a new, really welcoming home in our 'Cache of future raffle prizes!'  I think that you are all now aware that due to our 'Recitals' only having one interval our 'leave no stone unturned,' 'Reliable Raffle Ladies' now sell their tickets when you enter the Hall so have your loose change ready to contribute to this worthy, nay essential, cause please just after you have paid your £10.00 Entrance Fee!

We will have our usual 'Tremendously Tasty Butcher Burnham's Pork Pies' on sale at the subsidised price of £2.50 from the Bar  and our 'Well Stocked Bar' will have it customary tasty alcoholic and non-alcoholic products on sale for your delectation. We really look forward to having the pleasure of your company in our audience for this somewhat different enchanting musical treat!

Please don't forget to 'Mind the Trams' and keep well to the left.

Sincere best wishes as ever

Roger
